Credit Card and Sensitive Information

When you enter sensitive information, such as credit card information, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). Other information that you send via standard email will not be subjected to this high level of encryption, so we advise you accordingly that you should never submit sensitive personal information such as credit card numbers and so forth via standard email to us.

We maintain your credit card-related information once your purchase has been verified and processed via your credit card service provider for future usage within a secured system. In the event of a chargeback, the credit card service provider will provide us with such information for the purpose of our evaluation of the chargeback request, including any protestations and/or feedback issued by our company if we determine fraud has taken place. In the event of credit card fraud and similar defaulted payments, the credit card-related information shall be used for collection-related purposes.

As noted above, we follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Liability for Acts of Third Parties

Solar 1 Nation’s accountability for personal data that it receives under the Data Privacy Frameworks and subsequently transfers to a third party is described in the Data Privacy Framework Principles. In particular, we remain responsible and liable under the Data Privacy Framework Principles if third-party agents that it engages to process personal data on its behalf do so in a manner inconsistent with the Principles unless we prove that we are not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

Although Solar 1 Nation will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of the registration data, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. Solar 1 Nation will have no liability for the disclosure of registration data due to errors in transmission or unauthorized acts of third parties.

Children

Our services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 18. As per our Terms of Service, children under the age of eighteen (18) years may not register for our services. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at privacy@solar1nation.com.au so we may delete the information.

International Data Transfers Using the Model Clauses

Solar 1 Nation complies with Australian data protection laws when transferring personal data internationally. We use standard contractual clauses approved by the Australian Information Commissioner for transferring personal information from Australia to our data centers located outside of Australia. Additionally, we have implemented similar clauses with any third-party vendors or partners who may handle personal information on our behalf.

Data Privacy Framework Notice

Solar 1 Nation adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) concerning the handling of personal information. We ensure that any transfer of personal data outside of Australia complies with these principles. We do not participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework program or similar frameworks outside of Australia.
